For some reason, Information Systems classes always give me an uncontrollable desire to listen to NFL Films music.

Interestingly, this high-octane song was composed by a woman named Martha Jane Weber, who wrote quite a few songs for NFL Films back in the early days. It's good stuff.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RO5FPHFI6sI i know people don't think power metal is real metal, but that just reinforces my viewpoint that metalheads like that wouldn't know good music if it bit their nose off

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kT5w27YxyI i discovered a midi of this song inside of a midi file dump of geocities before it was taken down. i'm probably going to use this for area 1-3 of mario vs. windows 95

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=db83jVhhrxU i'm gonna modify a bocephus quote: i just ain't been able to make no levels for mario vs. windows 95

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AC-uN6fWhDQ dragonforce changed vocalists at some point, and they sound a whole hell of a lot less stupid now that they ditched zp theart

So what can be superior when compared with paying out half the price for brand name children?
wow, if brand name children are on sale, maybe i can stop buying all these cheap knockoff children

OK... even I'll admit that the Oakland Raiders' performance might be a valid reason to use the interesting words.

Wow, Dragonforce sounds so much different. Power Metal tends to have a much more lighthearted chord progression than most types of metal. And dragonforce especially likes singing about mythical things with a Michael Bay twist. But I guess what do you expect from a band with the name Dragonforce haha.

As for me, I've still been listening to grunge and Metallica.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OdGCnpclBg sometimes i get annoyed listening to modern country given that it's never about anything but romance and sex. sometimes that's just fine, though

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC2tLWMMF38 redneck rap as exemplified in this song is a relatively recent development in country music. what baffles me is that it tends to work so well, particularly when you have someone as good as jason aldean performing it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0i48Mh9I0xc you've probably heard real mccoy's biggest hit "another night", but this is off the same album. i can't find a midi of this track, but if i could, i'd use it in one of the DOS levels for mario vs. windows 95

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pav2f4b-1ZE and here's another night, because you're much more likely to recognize this track than the above one

The album, Taking The Long Way by the Dixie Chicks. I'm a fan of theirs, haha. They're extremely talented.

It's southern-y, country, bluegrass-y stuff all modernized.

I've been feeling pretty bad lately, but I'll be darned if this song doesn't help at least a little.

Vangelis - Theme from Antarctica. I wasn't previously aware of this, but this song was obviously the inspiration for the ice levels in Donkey Kong Country 2. Good stuff.

While on this same topic, here's a DKC2-infused remix of "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins, whose drumbeat inspired the percussion used in DKC2's swamp areas. Incidentally, the original version of the song is one of the most popular songs to play before local high school football games:

Also, a pretty cool trance track that a certain Austrian MFGGer wanted me to listen to:

good lord, i've bought a crazy amount of new music within the past week or so. i'm not sure what else to do with my paychecks besides save them, though

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jx7SF65wbs fall out boy doesn't hit that often, but when they do, they hit really hard. thnks fr th mmrs was the most bombastic song on infinity on high, and the version i first heard on **** live in phoenix doesn't do this song's glam metal slam justice

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mOzRNfuH7g ozzy osbourne doesn't really fit into the genre of glam metal, but he's also at his best when he sings high-intensity songs that sound like they took a wrong turn on the way to a hair band's practice space

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGzvuAznGK8 this classic is what country sounded like when i was growing up. i suppose i'm living up to my expectations of old rednecks being nostalgic for the way it used to be when i pine for country to sound like this again

also, since they must have thought it was a good idea to drop the prices of a bunch of nickelback albums to celebrate the release of their newest one, i've got their albums dark horse and the long road in addition to said new release, no fixed address. also, since garth brooks deigned it necessary to descend from the heavens and bless us mere mortals with a new album not long ago, i picked that up too. both the newly-released albums are excellent. no fixed address sounds like dark horse's mass-market sound combined with the heavy intensity of their earliest albums like curb. i saw someone describe garth's newest album as being like he never left at all, which is pretty consistent with what i've listened to on it

While on the subject of country music, Girl In a Country Song is pretty funny.

Also, I was induced into listening to the theme song from Clarissa Explains It All, because nothing screams early 90s like Clarissa, and every once in a while you just want early 90s stuff.

... now that i listen to it, i've heard this song on the radio quite a bit. i assumed it was by miranda lambert and carrie underwood or something like that, so it probably says something to the damaged state of my psyche that i both assumed it was them singing it and felt a little like i was being called out listening to it. i'll be d***ed if it isn't a good song, though, and i'll be d***ed if the girls singing it aren't drop-dead gorgeous

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBMVK_GBHaQ have i ever said i love powerman 5000?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDwBNkCzll4 and yet more nickelback. i think i should join a support group for nickelback addicts or something, because i know there's a lot of music fans that'd think i was sick in the head for liking this stuff
