For Bibmeister:

EXAMPLE:

It's not perfect, but appears so when it's all put together. The black hides it (not a racial comment).

Wait, did I just make you a tileset or something?

Here's a fully playable demo, now that I've fixed Mario's excessive slipperiness and added a decent HUD. The zombies now move faster as the game progresses, as well. Let me know about any and all glitches or complaints you have, so I can possibly fix them before the final deadline. I may remove the room wrapping, as well.

I got owned by those things spawning on top of me.

That was kind of fun for a little while. Why would you take out the wrapping feature? It helps.

OK. I could slow down the zombie-spawning animation if you think they're spawning too quickly.

Also, do you know any way to make the view change more smoothly when wrapping around to the other side of the room?

For the first part you could just make them change location if they spawn too close to the player.

For the second, I think so, but it depends on what you mean - like, how do you envision it?

Instead of the camera abruptly shifting to the opposite side of the room when you cross over, could the view follow Mario more smoothly, creating the illusion of the arena being infinite in size?

I know that it's possible to do something like that, but I've yet to actually try something like that.

I think I'll go experiment and see if I can come up with a way to do it - I have a couple of ideas.

Thanks. If it would help, I could send you the .GMK file.

If you want to do that, you can. I'd have it back to you as soon as possible. I have a good idea of what to do now.
