Current progress. 4 of 12 parts completed.
the tape is used to keep parts together while the epoxy cures.

The next couple of steps don't capture well on my camera, however, I filed down the grooves with a bastard file, then I filled in the gaps in the segments with some automotive clay, and sanded again. As of current it is awaiting primer, and paint, before I clear coat it, and post the final result.

In the final stretch now. some minor touching up to do, then I clear coat this thing.

And finally: apart from needing to dry, this project is completed!

Wow! That is very impressive indeed.

I know this one's a gift, but if you wanted to go in this direction, you could probably make money from high-quality 3-D printed things.

I've considered it actually.
I wouldn't mind selling some projects. perhaps even make some toys.

So, I turned up a couple of interesting modifications that will grant me higher capability with this printer.

Both are a ways out of the picture though, since I would like to have replaced this printer with a better one, before I attempt a project like this.

Laser engraver (This is amazingly simple, and easily well within my abilities)

CNC mill (Also simple, but looks like it would require some major modifications, which would render this modification permanent.)

As soon as I can get them... I kinda want to replace my 3d printer with something else before I go and convert it into a laser engraver.
