Nite Shadow : However, this is well within our abilities, considering that it's easier to aim at the communications tower, than it is to aim at the Satcom 4 sattelite in outer space with a C-band.
Nite Shadow : The main side-effect is that it will catch the wind, thus needing to be re-pointed on occasion.
Nite Shadow : Albeit I didn't cover the entire thing, the foil did make a difference.
Nite Shadow : I've tested this be applying aluminum foil to the reflector plate.
Nite Shadow : In theory, this will give it a better reflecting surface (much like a megaphone) thus improving our speed and connection rate.
Nite Shadow : I'm going to make this a more solid surface, by covering it with metal tape.

Not exactly the same, but this seems to be a close match.
The barbecue grill looking thing is the reflector plate that I have made note of, it's purpose is to catch, amplify, and reflect the signal back at the antenna (Much like a megaphone)
It's design is so that it isn't at the mercy of the wind, thus requiring far less re-pointing.
It obviously DOES work, however, I just couldn't help but feel that something could be done to improve the signal.
This would mean that I would be defeating the wind-proofing system, in return for a more solid reflector surface, thus getting a better signal.
Here are the results of the tests with aluminum foil.
Average download transfer rate of 20KB/s or less.
THIS isn't even covering the entire reflector plate (grill) (About 60% of it)
Imagine what covering the entire thing will do.
I certainly don't expect absolute perfection, but this is sure as hell a step in the direction I want.
